ArtsFest 2022

ArtsFest 2022

The 7th annual ArtsFest in 2022 was a “Peace-Love-Art Happening” on August 12th, 13th and 14th at Holt Park & Center for the Arts. Our happy theme was celebrated by both attendees and staff, who came in their favorite 60s and 70s hippie-style attire.

The Juried Art Show & Sale opened Friday evening August 12th, attended by artists, gallery owners, elected officials and local businesspeople. Carrabba’s Overlea gave out wine and sweet treats to everyone as they networked and purchased original art pieces from the juried show in the main building and the large art tent, and from the art silent auction.  Later that night, the Short Film- Fest screened all entries in the juried film category at the amphitheater, and viewers voted for their favorites in the People’s Choice awards.

On Saturday August 13th, art and craft vendors lined the walkways while music filled the park. The Ed Hrybyk Jazz Trio, The Bad Hombres Latinx band, Pat McEnerney Acoustic and James Seal & Tommy Buckets percussion played a variety of great music, and The Baltimore Hons entertained with their signature games and comedy. Naomi Rudisill-Burrell, Baltimore’s Best Hon 2022, was on hand to greet everyone. The creative staff at Holt Park organized scavenger hunts and art & nature activities for the kids.

Sunday August 14th brought beautiful weather for our 3 outdoor workshops – a Plein Air Painting Workshop, a Kids’ 3D Creature Build Workshop and an Art as a Business Workshop. This was our first year offering workshops, and all were so well attended that we plan to bring them back next year.

Overlea ArtsFest 2022 was generously sponsored by: Baltimore County, Rosedale Federal Savings & Loan Association, Senator Kathy Klausmeier, Senator Cory McCray, County Executive Johnny Olszewski, former Councilperson Cathy Bevins, Delegate Carl Jackson, and Delegate Harry Bhandari. We thank them for their support!
