Submission Form for Juried Visual Art Exhibition

Thank you for submitting your work to the Overlea ArtsFest! All information fields must be filled out completely. You may submit up to TWO works for consideration in each category, but please submit a separate form for each category.

NEW PROCEDURES THIS YEAR:

  • Artists must be 18 years of age or older to enter. (Younger artists can sign up for the Youth Art Show.)
  • There is a nominal fee of $20 to submit up to 2 pieces in any category. This will apply to each category submitted. To avoid the fee, artists have the option to provide 3 hours of volunteer service at ArtsFest or one of our workshop events. Please indicate your preference.
  • All artwork submitted must be available for sale. We will handle sales transactions and packing of artwork for customers, and retain their contact info for you. A commission fee of 15% of the total sale will be retained on any artwork that is sold. Please adjust your art pricing accordingly. 
  • All artwork accepted for the show must be properly prepared for display. Pieces intended to hang on the wall must have either hanging wire or sawtooth hangers. 2D pieces meant to display on easels should have a stiff backing, matte or frame. Artwork will not be checked in for the show until it is properly prepared.

If we receive a large number of submissions for a certain category, we may decide to divide that category into subcategories in order to judge them more effectively.

Submit good quality, hi-res images that are NO LARGER THAN 5MB in size per image.
Your images may show frames and matting, but should NOT show any background beyond that. If your photos are of poor quality, we will ask you to resubmit better images that allow us to properly evaluate your artwork.

Instructions for Art Drop-off and Pickup:
1. Artists are responsible for timely drop-off and pick-up of their artwork. Artists must take all wrapping and packaging materials with them when they deliver their art, and bring it back with them to take the art home safely. ArtsFest volunteers are not responsible for re-packaging or delivering any artwork.
2. Artwork should be dropped off to Holt Park & Center for the Arts from Thursday August 1st thru Wednesday August 7th, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. Art should be given to Paola Rodriguez, Mel Tilley or Emma Orndoff. Do not leave artwork unattended without being checked in.
3. If you need to drop-off artwork before August 1st, contact Carol Stover to schedule a day and time to do so.
4. This year’s show runs for 3 weeks – from August 9th til August 31st. Art pickup for unsold work is on Sunday September 1st, or Tuesday September 3rd thru Friday September 6th, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. (No art pickups on Labor Day, Monday September 2nd.) Do not take your artwork home without being checked out by our staff first.
5. If you are unable to pick up your artwork after the show concludes, you must arrange for someone to pick it up for you. All artwork not picked up by Friday September 6th will be considered a donation to the Silent Auction Table at ArtsFest for the following year.
